Ideas for your Newborn Baby Choosing a diapering system for your newborn can be a daunting task. Here at New & Green, we have tested lots of diapers and realized a few things about the newborn period:
Keeping all this in mind, we found that we needed a diapering system that was reasonably priced (needed a couple dozen diapers), that washed and dried easily, that was intuitive to use without a lot of steps, that kept the poop where it belonged, that had a reasonable amount of absorbency (we didn’t need a diaper fit for a super soaker as she was changed fairly often) and that actually fit her without too much bulk. This is what our newborn stash consisted of for our daugher who was 7lbs, 14oz at birth:
And that is it! This kept us going until about 4 ½ months, washing every second day. We made do with this setup, but thinking back, I would have had one more diaper pail liner (for when the other one is in the laundry) and 2 more small diaper covers because sometimes I just needed more and to wash to have to wash one by hand was a hassle. And lastly I really, really loved Pocket Diapers (still do!) so I definitely could have had more of those (or other easy to use diapers like All-in-Ones)! All the best with your little one! |
