Prefolds - Your 'Back to Basics' and Most Economical Cloth Diapering Choice
Prefolds are sold in 6 packs.
These are 100% cotton twill weave unbleached prefold cloth diapers that are soft, durable and highly absorbent. These are made in Pakistan with luxurious Indian cotton.
These are the second generation of cloth diapers, following the flat flannel pieces of fabric that your mother may have folded up and pinned onto you! This diaper is a flat rectangle and "pre folded" into three lengthwise panels. The outer two panels have 4 layers of cotton and the middle panel has 8 layers of cotton.
These are really versatile, easy to wash and dry and very customizable.
They can look a bit intimidating to use if you are used to a formed diaper, but with some instruction and practice, these are great diapers.
How do you use them? There are two ways. The first way is to fold the diaper into thirds and lay it like a pad into a snug fitting diaper wrap (suggest Bummis Super Whsiper Wrap). Once the diaper is laid (like a pad) into the wrap, you fasten the wrap on the baby, and voila, you are done! The second way is to use a Snappi to secure the diaper on. This provides a secure fit and then you can use a looser fitting diaper cover such as a Whisper Pant or Wool cover with your Prefold. Prefolds can also be used as a pocket diaper stuffer and later on, when your child is using a potty to do their business, they can be put away for your next child, resold or used for rags.
This diaper comes complete with prewashing and care instructions.
Expect up to 10% shrinkage.
After washing, the diapers will measure:
Infant sized diaper = 11" x 13.5"
Premium sized diaper = 13" x 19.5"
These diapers are imported from Pakistan and have passed the stringent non-toxicity standards of the European Agency Oeko-Tex.
