| Our Diaper Tester Program™ has Changed for 2008! New & Green Baby Co. knows how hard it is to choose a diaper for your child based on a graphic and a description on a website no matter how good the photo is or how detailed the description. Sometimes you just need to feel it, use it and try it to make sure it works for you and your baby! Based on a very successful diaper loan program run out of Ottawa by another mompreneur Susie Pearson, the New & Green Diaper Tester Program™ was developed. As anticipated, our Diaper Tester Program™ has been hugely popular from the moment we launched it! To better serve the unique needs of Vancouver area families, we are making some changes that will allow you to have a better experience with your trial, allow you to really get a feel for cloth diapering as a system and get a sense of the individual diaper styles and combos.
The changes in the Diaper Tester Program™ will allow you to: Give yourself enough time to figure it all out. All Trials will be two weeks. Based on feedback from past clients, two weeks is described as the ‘right’ amount of time to really get a good sense about cloth diapering and try the diapers out in lots of situations.
Choose when you’d like to rent the kit. No more waiting lists and uncertainty about the weeks you’ll have your diapers. All Tester weeks will be pre-booked online through our web-store in an easy process.
Have flexibility in pickup times. We are now offering a weekday as well as a weekend pickup for parents who have difficulty getting to the North Shore during the week.
Cost? The two week rental will still be $40. You will still receive a gift card at the end of your rental to use at the store should you decide to purchase some diapers. What's in the kit? You will still get a great selection of diapers – everything from prefolds to pockets to all-in-ones.This is your chance to try them all! You will also get all the accessories to make your trial a success – a bag to store your dirty diapers at home and when you are out, different liners and inserts/doublers, cloth wipes and wipes solution, a Snappi to fasten your prefolds with, and even laundry detergent to wash the diapers. And of course – you’ll get detailed instructions about how to use and care for the diapers. How it Works: You choose the size that works for you, either small (8-15lbs) or medium (15-25lbs) and the date for you from the options below. If you are booking based on your due date, we recommend that you book at least one month after your due date. We request that babies have had a chance to have their umbilical stump heal and that they have reached at least 8lbs prior to using the small kit. Once your payment is made for your tester weeks, you are set. The kits are picked up and returned to me at Beans on Lonsdale on Tuesday afternoons or Saturday mornings. Cancellations of your tester weeks can be made up to two weeks in advance of your start date for a full refund. Cancellations made less than two weeks prior to your start date are subject to a 50% cancellation fee. Why this is a Program you can't afford to miss: The diaper tester program is designed to be an affordable method of testing the waters with cloth diapering. ALL of the families that have participated in the program unanimously agree that it “was easier than I thought it was going to be!” Two of the biggest barriers to using cloth diapers are the fear of “how it all works” and the upfront cost. If you want a date further down the line, check back three months before your desired date.
