| Inserts, Doublers and Liners - hemp, bamboo, cotton, fleece and silk Diaper inserts are the absorbent core to any pocket diaper. Hemp inserts can do double duty as a doubler, laid inside of a fitted diaper for extra absorbency power. It is not recommended to lie a microfiber pad right next to your baby's skin. Diaper doublers boost your diaper's absorbency. You may need some extra absorbency if your child is going to be in their diaper for a longer stretch, ie naps or overnights. Bamboo Boosters can be added to any fitted, prefold, flat or contour diaper for more absorbency without a lot of bulk. Our hemp inserts also can be used as diaper doublers or you can add some absorbency (thinner than bamboo and comes in various sizes) with our unbleached cotton diaper doublers. They will give you a few more layers of cotton.Typically doublers are laid inside of a fitted, prefold or contour diaper. Microfleece or silk liners are typically laid inside of a fitted, prefold or contour diaper (cotton, hemp or bamboo) for a stay dry effect and to ease cleanup. They are also very useful if you are using a diaper cream. We recommend using a liner with any diaper creams as the creams can cause build up issues on your diapers if they come in contact. Build up can be the culprit for leaky and stinky diapers. Microfleece liners are the easiest to care for and provide a greater level of stay dry factor. Silk liners are a wonderful all natural alternative to fleece and have healing properties. Silk liners do best with either washing on warm or hand washing and hanging to dry (they dry in no time at all). |
