Bamboo - A Natural Choice for Diapers
Bamboo is a widely grown, widely used plant that has many advantageous properties. It grows wild and on farms in many parts of Asia. It is organically grown, needing no fertilizers or pesticides to flourish and requires very little water. It is known as the fastest growing plant on earth, clocked at growing at an astounding 121cm (47.6”) in a 24 hour period. The pulp of the bamboo grass is used to make fabric which is known for its silky soft feel, breathability, ability to wick moisture away from the skin and antibacterial properties. People who experience allergic reactions to some fabrics may find that bamboo the one fabric out there that does not pose any irritation. Bamboo is also highly absorbent - it will absorb about 60% more liquid than cotton weight for weight.
