These Organic Hemp-Natural Cotton flats are constructed from 55% Organic Hemp/45% Natural Cotton.  The two layer flats have one layer of hemp/cotton fleece, soft side out and one layer of hemp/cotton terry for extra absorbency and less loss of pile over time.  Our three layer flats have one layer of hemp/cotton fleece and two layers of terry.

These flats are multi-use.  They can be used as a prefold diaper and Snappi'd on or folded into a pad and laid inside of a snug fitting diaper cover (Bummis Super Whisper Wrap or Super Brite are good choices) or stuffed inside of a pocket diaper for excellent absorbency.

Our flats come in three styles with the approximate sizing:

2 layer medium - 12.5x16" prior to washing, 11x14.5 following prewashing

2 layer large - 14.5x19" prior to washing, 14x17" following prewashing

3 layer medium - 12.5x16" prior to washing, 11x14" following prewashing

We recommend considering your baby's wetting patterns when choosing two layers versus three layers.  Typically, a 2 layer flat will be absorbant enough to use as a prefold.  We recommend the three layer flat as an excellent night time solution for pocket diaper users.  Heavy wetters - meet your match!

To easily increase the absorbency of the two layer flats, you can simply add a hemp/cotton diaper doubler to the wetzone.  Instant increase in absorbing power without extra bulk where you don't need it.

This fabric is natural and untreated and will require several washes to remove the naturally occuring oils and render the fabric absorbent.  During this preparation stage it is important not to wash your hemp flats with diapers containing microfleece or with any diaper covers.  This will affect the performance of the other diapers/covers.
